Development of a new colorimetric RedOxindicator |
| Description: |
In the function as a Post-graduate (m/w) in the field of developing of a new colorimetric RedOxindicator is the following assignment:
• Design, synthesis and testing of new indicator types
• Measurement in blood glucose test strips by photometric methods
• Establishing a new indicator which works better then the current one
• Using and synthesize of new dyes in g-scale for the detection of the analyte glucose
• Improving of the current test strips

| Requirements: |
In the function as a Post-graduate (m/w) in the field of developing of an new colorimetric RedOxindicator you should bring up these requirements:
• Master of Science in chemistry, especially organic synthesis chemistry with very good grades
• Ability to synthesize new dyes in g-scale in the Organic Synthesis Group in Penzberg and Mannheim
• Willing to learn layer coating techniques and measurement techniques for blood glucose measurements
• Good communication skills in English; German are very helpful
• Ability to work in a team and self-dependent as well
Training opportunities (trainings for soft skills etc.) will be provided.

Influence of test strip architecture on diffusion processes |
| Description: |
In the function as a Post Doc (m/w) in the field of Influence of test strip architecture on diffusion processes is the following assignment:
• Production of specific glucose binders (e.g. proteins or other substances) in Penzberg and then investigation under specific questions of dry layer test strip architectures in Mannheim
• Handling with specific binders like GBP (glucose-binding-protein), Apo-GOx and boronic acids
• Working with several types of dispo architectures
• Usage of binding events for the detection of blood glucose with a specific binder
• Evaluation of binders in dry layers for blood glucose testing and the advantages
• Analysis of glucose

| Requirements: |
In the function as a Post Doc (m/w) in the field of Influence of test strip architecture on diffusion processes you should bring up these requirements:
• Ph.D of Science biochemistry with a very good background in protein chemistry
• Ability to produce proteins in gram-scale by common methods (e.g. fermentation, precipitation, chromatography, protein conjugation)
• Characterize proteins with physicochemical techniques in the Biotechnology Development group in Penzberg
• Willing to learn layer coating techniques and investigation methods for dry layer analysis in Mannheim
• Good communication skills in English; German are very helpful
• Ability to work in a team and self-dependent as well

Upconverting phosphors in chemistry layers for detection of an analyte |
| Description: |
In the function as a Post-graduate (m/w) in the field of up-converting phosphors in chemistry layers for detection of an analyte is the following assignment:
• Design of the measuring optics in photometric measurements by sophisticated optical designs
• Realization of methods like fluorescence detection
• Implementation and appropriation measurement technique for up-converting phosphors
• Evaluation of the dependencies of the energy transfer on concentrations, type of up-converting phosphors, dye and dye structure, distribution and the availability in layer
• Applying of optical setups on the detector
• Solving of problems in measure errors between illumination and detection

| Requirements: |
In the function as a Post-graduate (m/w) in the field of up-converting phosphor in chemistry layers for the detection of an analyte you should bring up these requirements:
• Master of Science in physics or physical chemistry with very good grades
• Well-founded knowledge especially in optical physics, optical microscopy and UV/Vis spectroscopy
• Knowledge (chemistry / physics) on fluorescence and dyes
• Experience in optical setups using LED’s, photodiodes, optical fibers, opto-mechanics and –electronics
• Willing to build up an laboratory measurement setup in Mannheim for the evaluation of up-converting phosphors for the analyte detection in dry layers
• Experience in data evaluation using Matlab is of advantage
• Good communication skills in English; German is very helpful
• Ability to work in a team and self-dependent as well
